Data Protection, General Data Protection Regulation and Privacy Statement

Christine King of Wood Tiger Therapies will be acting under the Data Protection Act 1998 (“DPA”) and General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) in relation to such personal data and am committed to complying with my legal obligations under these. For your protection I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)

As a professional therapist, it is necessary for me to keep accurate records on my clients.  Christine King of Wood Tiger Therapies will hold and process any personal data you, the client, submits for the purpose of arranging, formulating and receiving tailored therapy services. Your personal information will only be used for treatment purposes and will not be shared with any third parties, without your express permission.

Clients are asked to complete and return consultation questionnaires via email in advance of booked appointments. I may also print off and keep paper records thereof. Paper records are held securely and are only accessible by me.  By signing your consultation form, you confirm your consent to me holding information about you securely in both paper and electronic format as set out in this section.

Data for adult clients is held for 10 years in accordance with the requirements of my liability insurers. If the data held relates to a child client, then it is held for a period of 10 years following that client’s 18th birthday.  I dispose of data safely.

You have the right to access the personal information I hold about you and this will be provided within 30 days of your written request, sent to me by email. Any information that I hold about you will be sent to you in electronic format.

How I will use your data

I use your personal data for the purpose of arranging the provision of complementary therapies with you, to ensure those therapies are safe and suitable for you, and to book future appointments where you have indicated your intention to continue to attend. I would also like to contact you when I have information about new therapies and special offers that I think might be of interest to you; provided you consent in writing. You will be able to select and opt into your chosen methods of contact for appointments and services.

Payment

Treatments must be paid for in full at completion of the treatment by either card payment, or cash. Please see cancellation policy for further information.

Cancellation Policy

At least 24 hours’ notice must be given if you are unable to attend your appointment. In the case of illness or emergency, all reasonable effort will be made to rebook your session at a mutually convenient date and time. In the event of cancellation within 24 hours of the booked appointment 50% of the treatment fee will be charged via payment link. For missed appointments with no notification, 100% of the treatment fee will be charged via payment link.

Wood Tiger Therapies kindly requests that you arrive for your booked appointment on time, and no earlier than 5 minutes ahead of your scheduled treatment. This is so that necessary preparation of the treatment space ahead of your arrival can be completed, particularly if you have chosen to visit for energy healing.

Every moment of your booked time counts, so that you get the most from each of your sessions. With that in mind, please do allow adequate time for travel to your appointment. While all reasonable effort is made to incorporate some space between client sessions, to account for short traffic delay, significant lateness will have an inevitable knock on effect for other clients. Accordingly, your session will be necessarily curtailed in such circumstances, with payment in full for the pre-booked appointment still being charged.

Ethics

I am insured to practise as a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists and abide by their Code of Conduct and Professional Practice. I am also insured to practise as a member of the Acupuncture Acutherapy Council and abide by their Professional Code.
